Data released by the Russian Agricultural Product Export Center recently showed that China became the main importer of Russian soybeans in 2023, leading the growth of Russian soybeans exports to the global market.In the first 11 months of 2023, Russia exported 91.5 million tons of soybeans to China, significantly higher than other countries.

According to the data of the Russian Agricultural Product Export Center, Spain and Turkey rank second and third in Russian soybeans imports respectively. During this year, the total exports of Russian soybeans grew by 1.5 times to about 2.5 million tons, while exports grew by 0.9 times.

In the 11 months prior to 2023, Russia exported more than 3.2 million tons of soybean grain to the global market, a record high of 2.5 times the same period in 2022.The President of the Russian Alliance of Cereal Exporters, Edward Zelenin, said Russian soybean grain exports are expected to continue to grow.

This growth trend reflects Russia’s important position in the global agricultural market, as well as China’s ongoing demand for Russian agricultural products, which also demonstrates the outcomes of diversifying Russian agricultural exports, especially in the context of tensions between Russia and traditional Western markets.

China, as the main importer of Russian beans, has not only promoted the deepening of bilateral trade relations, but also contributed to the stability and development of the Russian agricultural export market.This is a positive signal for Russian agricultural producers, which will help promote the further development and innovation of their agricultural industries.
